Week 29: March 25-March 29

We will continue our review for STAAR this week! Thiw includes looking back at informational text, argumentative text and revise and edit skills this week. We will be working in the site Cambium.  This is where your child will be taking STAAR.  This past week, we held a parent meeting and discussed the tools associated with this site and how your child uses them.  We will be sending home a printout of the slides from those meetings, please look over them and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.  We will be reviewing informational text, argumentative text and revise and edit skills this week.

In Social Studies, we will also be continuing our discussions on financial literacy.  We will be working in Brainpop and using  short answer responses to show our knowledge of the concepts: earn, save, spend, donate, income, human capital, etc.

Don’t forget our Spring Book Fair this week!  Mrs. Skeen has been working hard to get this ready and we are all VERY excited!!

Easter Parties are on Thursday from 10:15-11:15.  Please sign your child out with their homeroom teacher, if you plan to take your child home after the party.

SCHOOL WILL BE OUT ON FRIDAY AND MONDAY…ENJOY THE LONG WEEKEND!

NEXT WEEK IS SPRING BREAK!!! (Enjoy your time off!!!)

When we return we will be reviewing for STAAR.  We will do our best to make this exciting and beneficial at the same time.  Please be sure your student is here everyday and ready to learn.  Each day is very important!  We will also be continuing our financial literacy learning with writing samples of earning, saving, donating, and spending.
